Singer, drummer and guitarist Hamish Kilgour is one-third of the Clean, a founding member of Bailter Space and a one-time employee of Flying Nun Records — his place in the history of New Zealand’s glorious underground sound is significant and secure. He’s also been a New Yorker since the late ’80s, where he has co-lead The Mad Scene, backed Bill Direen, played in Kickstand and Rosa, and co-produced a Carsick Cars with Sonic Boom. An inveterate collaborator, it’s taken him until 2014 to get around to making his first solo record, the excellent All Of It And Nothing (Ba Da Bing!). (Read Bill Meyer’s review of that record here).
